Job Description 

We are looking for a full-time or part-time agriculture procurement specialist to assist us in sourcing feed grains globally for listing on our digital wholesale marketplace. The ideal candidate will have a strong network of global suppliers and established relationships with them.

Job Duties 

> Identifying suppliers for commodities required

> Evaluation and negotiation of purchase contracts

> Define the Monthly Purchasing strategy for commodities across the group.

> Maintain and further establish grain trading sales.

> Close supervision of all Grain and Commodity tenders and sourcing activities

> Planning and budgeting purchasing requirements

> Coordination with production and commercial departments to understand needs and ensure accurate forecasting.

> Develop Category strategy for optimal market entry points for commodity purchasing.

> Assess financial instrument utilization for price fixing.

> Managing the relationship with all suppliers

> Monitoring international prices of grain and raw materials

Requirements 

> 10 years feed grains trading or purchasing experience.

> A deep understanding of feed grain production, quality specification, supplies, sales, and logistics

> An extensive network of and established relationships with feed grain suppliers, processors, and extraction plants, particularly in major grain producing countries such as the US, Brazil, Argentina, Africa, and India.

> Strong understanding of international feed grains and other commodity markets, price determining factors, macro economics

> Full and complete understanding of feed grain purchase and sales process and documentation including shipping, GAFTA contracts, claims process.

> Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or equivalent

> Professional purchasing certification preferred.

> Strong analytical, evaluation and problem-solving skills.

> Trustworthy and responsible person

> Good project management skills

> Result- and execution focused, strong drive and power of initiative.

> Structured approach to planning and project execution

> Outward-oriented, proactive with strong communication & persuasion skills

> Strategic and analytical mind-set
