Job Description 

You will actively manage the end-to-end sales process; sourcing new customers, scoping customer requirements, providing unique solutions and customer quotes and liaising with the relevant departments to ensure successful delivery. You will also recruit, hire, develop, and manage the sales team that will operate under your direction.

Job Duties 

> Be responsible for selling the company’s Ag Supply Chain solutions to end user customers.

> Generate sales revenue and gross profit as per agreed targets and time scales.

> Prospect for new business customers; some leads will be provided by the marketing department; some will need to be self-generated.

> Source and sell to prospective customers in commercial, non-profit, governmental and NGO sectors.

> Attend industry trade shows and other events to liaise/network and develop business.

> Maintain a close working relationship with prospects and customers.

> Draw up a project proposal to include products and costings and design a complete Ag Supply Chain solution.

> Deliver excellent customer service at all times and through every stage of the customer journey.

> Utilize the CRM system as a tool to work out daily priorities, log and track all contacts and companies at every stage of the sales process with prospects and clients.

> Manage own workload and prioritize to the needs of the customer and the business.

> Manage the sales team, including recruiting, hiring, training and directing their activities.

> Maintain an up-to-date summary of prospects; periodically provide accurate, detailed and timely information regarding all prospects and sales activities to management.

> Reinforce the dFarm and AIMS brands, and company ethos.

> Keep up knowledge of relevant technologies such as Blockchain, AI, IoT and SaaS

> Assist management team as required.

> Liaise and assist colleagues as and when appropriate.

> Undertake such other duties as may be required within the general scope of the job.

> The ideal candidate will have min 2 years core experience on successfully selling agriculture ERP solutions to growers, retailers and other participants in the agriculture supply chain

> 2+ years’ experience selling AgTech solutions (preferably supply chain) to the agriculture sector.

> Overall, 10 years of experience is Agri Sales and Marketing.

> A deep understanding of the agriculture sector: participants, services and supply chain.

> An understanding of agriculture technologies, specifically supply chain and/or Blockchain, Big Data, AI or IoT.

> Existing technology business contacts in the agriculture sector

> A thorough understanding of the AgTech sales process.

> A demonstrable track record of achieving sales targets.

> The ability to prospect for new business – business to business.

> Education to BA/BS degree level or equivalent.

> Experience managing a team of sales professionals.

> Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.

> A can-do attitude to the workplace.

> The ability to work as part of the team and develop good working relationships at all levels within the organization.

> Good knowledge of MS Office applications, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

> Adept in using a Customer Relationship Management system.

> Good organizational and prioritization skills

> Logical thinker who can recognize opportunities for creating new business sales and improving customer services.

> Able to manage change effectively.

> Energetic, enthusiastic, and resilient.

> Ability to work using own initiative.
