1. Position Overview

The Sales & Marketing Director will lead dFarm’s sales growth, brand development, and marketing operations across India, with a strong focus on digital campaigns, home delivery network development, and omni-channel expansion. The role will oversee the promotion and distribution of dFarm’s trusted product portfolio, including cold-pressed oils, premium mangoes, certified chicken meat, and value-added food products

This leadership position requires expertise in FMCG sales, food distribution, digital-first marketing, and channel development. The director will be responsible for driving consumer acquisition, scaling delivery networks, leading marketing innovation, and establishing dFarm as a trusted consumer brand for quality and traceability.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Sales Strategy & Market Expansion

· Develop and execute a robust sales strategy for all product lines: cold-pressed oils, fruits, fresh meat, and QR-tracked items.

· Expand dFarm’s footprint across Bangalore, Karnataka, and southern India, with phased national rollout.

· Identify and grow B2C and B2B sales opportunities including:

o Supermarkets & Modern Retail

o HORECA buyers

o Online marketplaces (Amazon, BlinkIt, BigBasket)

o D2C platform & WhatsApp commerce

o Social media sales

· Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets with consistent revenue growth.

· Create region-specific pricing, promotions, and SKU strategies.

Job Duties 

> Be responsible for selling the company’s Ag Supply Chain solutions to end user customers.

> Generate sales revenue and gross profit as per agreed targets and time scales.

> Prospect for new business customers; some leads will be provided by the marketing department; some will need to be self-generated.

> Source and sell to prospective customers in commercial, non-profit, governmental and NGO sectors.

> Attend industry trade shows and other events to liaise/network and develop business.

> Maintain a close working relationship with prospects and customers.

> Draw up a project proposal to include products and costings and design a complete Ag Supply Chain solution.

> Deliver excellent customer service at all times and through every stage of the customer journey.

> Utilize the CRM system as a tool to work out daily priorities, log and track all contacts and companies at every stage of the sales process with prospects and clients.

> Manage own workload and prioritize to the needs of the customer and the business.

> Manage the sales team, including recruiting, hiring, training and directing their activities.

> Maintain an up-to-date summary of prospects; periodically provide accurate, detailed and timely information regarding all prospects and sales activities to management.

> Reinforce the dFarm and AIMS brands, and company ethos.

> Keep up knowledge of relevant technologies such as Blockchain, AI, IoT and SaaS

> Assist management team as required.

> Liaise and assist colleagues as and when appropriate.

> Undertake such other duties as may be required within the general scope of the job.

Requirements 

> The ideal candidate will have min 2 years core experience on successfully selling agriculture ERP solutions to growers, retailers and other participants in the agriculture supply chain

> 2+ years’ experience selling AgTech solutions (preferably supply chain) to the agriculture sector.

> Overall, 10 years of experience is Agri Sales and Marketing.

> A deep understanding of the agriculture sector: participants, services and supply chain.

> An understanding of agriculture technologies, specifically supply chain and/or Blockchain, Big Data, AI or IoT.

> Existing technology business contacts in the agriculture sector

> A thorough understanding of the AgTech sales process.

> A demonstrable track record of achieving sales targets.

> The ability to prospect for new business – business to business.

> Education to BA/BS degree level or equivalent.

> Experience managing a team of sales professionals.

> Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.

> A can-do attitude to the workplace.

> The ability to work as part of the team and develop good working relationships at all levels within the organization.

> Good knowledge of MS Office applications, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

> Adept in using a Customer Relationship Management system.

> Good organizational and prioritization skills
